Join us for a fascinating 2 hour workshop, shining the spotlight on deadly sac fungi, jelly fungi, gilled mushrooms, slime molds and parasitic plants growing at Wye Marsh. Learn about their ecological roles, and the incredible communication networks they form. Enjoy a guided tour and make your own "spore print" to take home! Ages 10+. $25.00 per person

Let them inspire you - move you - and find expression through your body and voice. Join Maestro Fresh Air for this intriguing experimental two-and-a-half-hour journey. Enjoy a guided mindful walk along trails, breathing exercises, and collaborative music-making. Connect deeply with the nature – and your creative spirit! Ages 16+. $25.00 per person

Ever walk through the forest and wonder which plants are tasty, which ones have healing powers, and which ones are toxic? Find out the answers when you join us at the Wye Marsh to learn about some of the edible, medicinal, and poisonous plants living here. Gain an understanding of how to properly identify these plants, how some can be used beneficially, and the properties that make others harmful. Investigate these plants on a guided hike and create your own mini field guide to take home! Ages 10+. $25.00 per person

Georgian Bay Tugboat Festival

The 2024 Georgian Bay Tugboat Festival will be held at the Midland Town Harbour 10am-5pm August 17, 2024 with free admission to the festival.

This family friendly event will have lots of fun activities, including a tug race, tug demonstrations, and a tug push contest. Hundreds of visitors will join us for live music, buskers, face painting, and vendors! Select tugboats will be open for tours in the afternoon. The tugboat parade of lights to be held on Friday August 16 at dusk.

Opening Day at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons

Ontario’s first European Community, Sainte-Marie among the Hurons was the headquarters for the French Jesuit Mission to the Huron-Wendat people. In 1639, the Jesuits, along with French lay workers, began construction of a palisaded community that included barracks, a church, workshops, residences, and a sheltered area for Indigenous visitors. This community was abandoned and burned down in 1649.
